Planning an engagement session in Asbury Park, New Jersey? This iconic Jersey Shore town is one of my favorite places to photograph couples thanks to its mix of bold murals, coastal boardwalk views, and vintage charm. Ariana and Joe chose Asbury Park for their engagement photos, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect match for their fun, laid-back personalities.

Starting on the Asbury Park Boardwalk

We kicked off the session on the Asbury Park Boardwalk, where the ocean breeze and bright murals created the most vibrant backdrop. Their adorable dog, Jameson, joined us for this part of the session and immediately became the star. He happily strutted along the boardwalk and posed like a seasoned professional, adding so much personality to the photos.

The murals along the beachfront are always a favorite—full of color, texture, and artsy flair. Ariana and Joe laughed and walked hand-in-hand as we moved from mural to mural, capturing a mix of candid moments and sweet, romantic portraits.

Wonder Bar Stop

After the boardwalk, we made a quick stop at Wonder Bar, one of the most recognizable spots in Asbury Park. The playful, retro feel of the building gave us such a fun, iconic backdrop. The bold colors and vintage signage added that perfect touch of Asbury personality to their session.

From there, we headed over to The Asbury Hotel, one of the coolest hotels in the area for photos. The modern, artsy vibe matched their style perfectly. We captured some relaxed, editorial-feeling portraits on the property before heading to our final location.

Ending the Session at the Asbury Lanes Diner

We wrapped up the evening inside the diner at Asbury Lanes, and it was the perfect finish. Ariana and Joe ordered a root beer float to share, which brought such a sweet, nostalgic touch to their photos. The neon lights, checkered floors, and retro décor gave us the dreamiest environment for some fun, playful, date-night-style portraits.

Their laughter, the cozy booths, and the glow of the diner lights created some of my favorite images of the whole session.
