Hailey & Thomas | Cape May, New Jersey Engagement Session

If you’re looking for a timeless and romantic location for engagement photos, Cape May, New Jersey is always at the top of my list. With its charming Victorian architecture, coastal light, and beautiful seasonal blooms, it’s the perfect backdrop for couples who want a mix of classic and playful imagery. Hailey and Thomas’s spring engagement session in Cape May was exactly that—full of color, personality, and meaningful locations.

We started their session at Congress Hall, one of the most iconic landmarks in Cape May. The soft pastel tones of the building paired perfectly with the fresh spring blooms—daffodils, tulips, and flowering trees were in full bloom, creating the dreamiest setting. From there, we explored the surrounding streets, stopping along the way to photograph some of Cape May’s famous Victorian homes. These historic houses add so much character and texture to engagement sessions and are a big reason why Cape May is such a sought-after location for both engagement photos and weddings.

One of my favorite parts of this session was when Hailey and Thomas brought along their dog, Ammo. Including your dog in your engagement session is such a fun way to make your photos feel more personal and relaxed—and Ammo absolutely stole the show for a few portraits!

We ended the session at The Virginia Hotel, which made this engagement session even more special. This is the exact spot where Thomas proposed, so it felt like a full-circle moment to capture them there. The elegant, coastal vibe of The Virginia Hotel added the perfect finishing touch to their gallery and tied their story together beautifully.
