Some wedding days feel like a destination getaway while still being filled with the people and traditions that matter most. Taylor and Chris’ wedding at the beautiful Virginia Beach Oceanfront Marriott was exactly that.

As a Philadelphia wedding photographer who travels throughout the East Coast, I love photographing celebrations that are deeply personal to a couple. For Taylor and Chris, Virginia Beach wasn't just a wedding destination—it was a place filled with memories. The couple had been visiting the resort together for years, making it the perfect setting to begin their next chapter.

Their wedding weekend kicked off with a welcome party on Thursday evening at Cavalier Beach Club. Guests enjoyed tacos, orange crushes, and ocean views while celebrating the couple. One of the most meaningful details of the evening was the dress code for the men. Everyone wore Hawaiian shirts in honor of Taylor's late stepfather, creating a touching tribute that set the tone for a weekend centered around family and love.

On wedding day, Taylor looked absolutely stunning in her beaded wedding gown with a dramatic train. Her Badgley Mischka heels featured intricate details that almost resembled starfish, perfectly complementing the elegant coastal aesthetic of the day. Chris wore a classic blue suit that fit beautifully with the beachside setting.

One of my favorite moments was their first look on the grand staircase inside the Virginia Beach Oceanfront Marriott. The elegant architecture provided the perfect backdrop for such an emotional moment before the ceremony.

The couple exchanged vows outdoors on the lawn with the Atlantic Ocean stretching behind them. Taylor was escorted down the aisle by her brothers, making for an incredibly meaningful entrance. Her bouquet of white calla lilies and roses added timeless elegance to the ceremony.

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the second-floor veranda overlooking the beach, pools, and ocean. The views were incredible and gave everyone a chance to soak in the coastal atmosphere before heading into the ballroom reception.

Inside, the ballroom was transformed with white florals, calla lilies, and tall candle arrangements that created a romantic and sophisticated atmosphere. As the sun began to set, we slipped away for portraits on the beach. The sky turned the most beautiful cotton candy pink, creating a dreamy backdrop for some of my favorite images from the day.

After sunset, Taylor and Chris danced the night away with family and friends before we stepped outside for a few dramatic flash portraits to end the evening. It was the perfect conclusion to an unforgettable celebration.
