Fall is one of the most beautiful—and busiest—times of the year for family photography in Bucks County and New Jersey. With crisp air, golden leaves, and soft glowing sunsets, it’s the perfect season to update your family photos. Each year, I offer a mix of full family sessions and fall mini sessions, and this season was one of my biggest yet with over 150 mini sessions photographed throughout September, October, and November.

Why Families Love Fall Photography
Fall portraits are timeless—warm tones, cozy styling, and natural smiles. Whether families are updating their gallery wall, creating holiday cards, or documenting a growing little one, the fall season always delivers stunning, colorful backdrops.
In addition to the ever-popular mini sessions, full sessions allow families more time, more flexibility, and a wider variety of locations, perfect for milestone moments or larger family gatherings.
Fall Mini Sessions: Over 150 Families Photographed
Mini sessions are short, simple, and perfect for busy families who want beautiful portraits without a long time commitment. This year, I photographed over 150 mini sessions, making it one of my busiest and most cherished seasons yet. I love seeing returning families year after year and welcoming new faces into the fall tradition.
Beautiful Fall Locations for Family Photos
Washington Crossing Historic Park, PA
One of my all-time favorite photography spots, Washington Crossing offers timeless stone structures, tree-lined paths, and beautiful foliage. It’s a classic Bucks County location with endless charm and soft, natural light.
Core Creek Park, PA
With wide-open fields, water views, and vibrant fall colors, Core Creek Park is perfect for families who want a mix of scenery in a short amount of time. Kids love the space to explore, and the tall grasses make for dreamy golden-hour portraits.
Sayen Gardens, NJ
For families in New Jersey, Sayen Gardens provides a lush and colorful backdrop even into late fall. Its bridges, winding paths, and landscaped gardens create a whimsical environment for relaxed, natural photos.
Full Sessions vs. Mini Sessions: What’s the Difference?
Both session types offer beautiful results, but they serve different needs:
Full Sessions
Longer session time
Multiple locations or outfit changes
Ideal for extended families or milestones
Larger, more varied gallery
Mini Sessions
Short & efficient
Perfect for annual updates
One location
A smaller but curated gallery
